Realization of big American dream began in 1875 in New York, where the modest immigrant from Bohemia Joseph Bulova opened small jewelry shop. And this modest enterprise had to develop into one of the powerful corporations for the production of watches. In 1911 Bulova began to produce wall clocks, and also pocket watches, which were sold very well. During the First World War wrist watches for soldiers were released. Veterans, who returned from the war, brought with themselves fashion for Bulova watches. Production was enlarged, and Bulova accumulated some budget to start production of watches with precious stones. Thus, in 1919 was launched manufacturing line of men’s wrist watches decorated with precious stones, and shortly after line of ladies fine watches. During Great Depression Bulova supported retail merchants, proposing different types of payments for watches. In the following decade Bulova actively supported first commercial television, kept production of typical watches, maps of America; therefore America lived on time of Bulova. By that time already Arde Bulova, the son of Joseph Bulova, deals with production of watches for soldiers. When The United States entered the Second World War, the factories of Bulova immediately began to improve production in order to supply precise equipment for the military forces of the country. Bulova provided the government of America with watches for soldiers, specific clockworks, equipment for aircrafts, precise mechanisms for torpedoes and fuses.
